Alloa Athletic 1 Ross County 3
Alloa could be in hot water with the SFA after a firecracker was thrown at Ross County goalkeeper Steve Hutchison at Recreation Park.
Hutchison was the target in the 36th minute after Alloa had gone ahead through Peter Dwyer.
County were restarting the match when the squib was thrown from the home support behind the visitors goal.
When it bounced off Hutchison's ankle a loud bang was heard and a puff of smoke could be clearly seen.
Three policemen quickly moved in among the supporters but they failed to identify the culprit.
At half-time, the County No.1 handed the firework to referee Dougie Smith and he may report the incident to the SFA.
Hutchison said: "I didn't know too much about it although I did feel it hit my ankle.
"It's just one of those things that can happen at this time of the year. Their supporters were obviously happy at scoring the goal.
"But you just grow to accept these things and I will put it down as an experience.
"You are always going to get idiots following teams and it would be a shame if others had to suffer because of a person who might not even go to another game."
Alloa chairman Pat Lawlor later claimed no one at the club knew of the incident.
He said: "There was nothing in the referee's after-match report but now that it has come to my attention we will be making inquiries.
"The club has an exemplary record and we have never in our history been reported to the SFA."
County squared the match on the stroke of half-time through 21-year-old Derek Adams, then produced their own fireworks in the second half. Adams got his second with a sizzling volley in 49 minutes and partner Sandy Ross wrapped it all up near the end.
Adams admitted: "I could have had four or five goals, but I took two of the chances so I have to be happy.
"Playing with such an experienced player as Sandy is certainly helping just now because he takes a lot of the burden off me."
