Brechin City 2 Ross County 1 League leaders Ross County should have punished a City defensive error in the second minute, but McPherson mishit a 12-yard effort and when the ball broke to Milne he screwed his drive across the face of the goal from close in. County continued to dominate and in the 12th minute a free-kick from Connelly was headed into the arms of Allan by Bellshaw. Hutchison denied Farnan the opening goal in the 39th minute at full stretch. MacPherson finally made the breakthrough for County two minutes from the interval when he put the finishing touches to Ferries cross which was knocked on first by Connelly then Milne. City came close to equalising in the 49th minute when Brown rose above the County defence to reach a Scott corner and it was left for Williamson to clear the danger. Brechin City goals were scored by Sandy Ross and Bobby Brown. |
