East Fife 2 Ross County 1
Ross County centre half Sandy MacLeod is fighting to be fit to face Arbroath in Saturday's Third Division tussle in which the Dingwall team will be bidding for first home league victory.
The bustling pivot failed a late fitness test on his ankle at Bayview Park and missed County's B&Q Cup debut on Saturday.
Reshuffled County battled valiantly and came within nine minutes of forcing extra time before going down 2-1 to Steve Archibald's men.
Manager Bobby Wilson said: "We are hopeful that Sandy can respond to treatment in time to play against Arbroath. But we'll havr to wait and see how things go."
The Ross boss confirmed that he has spoken again to Elgin City's transfer-listed sweeper Willie Furphy, wuo is wanted by Alloa.
Andy MacLeod fired County ahead from a penalty on the hour mark after Alan Duff had been pulled down.
Two headers, from Hunter and Scott, finally punctured the Ross resistance.
