| Comments | Match Report Report from the Press & Journal. Ross County 2 Peterhead 1 Skipper Cammy Robertson, defender Gary Campbell and striker Gary Ross will all be recalled to Ross County's starting line-up against Forres Mechanics at Victoria Park tonight (7.30). With seven games ahead of them over the next fortnight, manager Bobby Wilson will need to plumb the depths of his squad to meet a hectic schedule. He said: "Saturday's win over Peterhead on a very heavy pitch took a lot out of the players' legs and we'll need to bring in some fresh faces to compensate for that against Forres." Goals from Chris SOMERVILLE, who struck midway through the first half and Johnston BELLSHAW, who powered home a great header from a corner on the hour, saw County through to a 2-1 win over a makeshift Peterhead. With no central defence to speak of thanks to Grant Coull's suspension and Steve King's absence through injury, Peterhead boss Dave Watson was left to cobble together a side from just 11 fit players. "I couldn't fault the attitude of the players but the defensive handicap was just too much to overcome." The Blue Tooners, who will have both Coull and King back for Wednesday night's derby with Fraserburgh, nevertheless, went in at half time all-square after Robbie CHEYNE glanced home a header late in the first half. |
