Ross County 6 Deveronvale 2 Ross County hit Deveronvale for six to stay on course for second spot in the Press and Journal Highland League and they will be out to continue their campaign against Inverness Thistle at Kingsmills tonight. A Brian Grant hat-trick and single counters from Andy MacLeod, Gordon Connelly, Chris Somerville took County's April goal tally to 27, earning them the April Hot 100 top-scorers' bonus cheque for £100. MACLEOD and SOMERVILLE sent County in 2-0 up at half-time and goals from GRANT and CONNELLY opened up a 4-0 lead inside an hour. The manager less Banffers, who had to draft in two youth players to make up a pool of 13 for the trip north, pulled back two goals in a minute through Mark STRACHAN and Kevin CHRISTIE. But two goals in a minute from GRANT gave County an easy win, prompting manager Bobby Wilson to comment: "I'll settle for more of the same at Kingsmills." County will travel to Inverness with Cammy Robertson and Gary Campbell out of the reckoning. |
