Ross County 2 Inverness Caledonian Thistle 1 Ross County moved three points clear in the Scottish Championship after Ross Stewart's late goal clinched a derby win over Inverness Caledonian Thistle. Stewart's header ensured the Dingwall side edge further ahead of Ayr United. Billy Mckay netted from close range early on, but Jordan White volleyed in a Tom Walsh corner to level. Stewart then scored his late winner before team-mate Brian Graham and the visitors' Shaun Rooney were dismissed after an off-the-ball altercation. Ross County co-manager Steven Ferguson: "There was a bit of everything in that. Again, we didn't feel we played well and sometimes you have to credit the opposition for that. "You have to credit our team and their togetherness. We scored a lot of goals late on in games and that's credit to the players' attitude." Inverness Caledonian Thistle manager John Robertson: "I'm still numb. That's one of the most one-sided derbies I've ever been involved in. From the moment they got their goal we dominated the game. "We destroyed them in terms of passing the ball and moving the ball. I would be gutted to come away with a point but to come away with nothing is just incredible. It's a big lesson learned." |
