County draw with East Stirling
County are in third place in the new Third Division after a creditable draw at Falkirk with East Stirlingshire on Saturday.
Once again County took an excellent travelling support down the A9 but they saw their favourites as somewhat jaded after their tough mid-week cup-tie.
They did enough, however, to take a share of the spoils although, after taking the lead, found themselves behind and leaving it late to get the face-saving equaliser.
It was Jamie MacPherson who put them ahead on the half-hour when he raced through the home defence and shot home from all of 25 yards.
But any thoughts County had of a run away victory were soon dispelled as East Stirling turned the screw and five minutes before the interval drservedly equalised through Mungo McCallum heading home...that's right, from a corner!!
County were now well and truly playing second fiddle to a more determined and indeed eager Shire and it only took them eight minutes of the second half before Colin Scott blasted them into the lead from 20 yards.
County appeared to be heading for a defeat when, with just 10 minutes on the clock, home keeper Moffat made a hash of a cross and thankfully Barry Wilson was alert enough to take advantage and get his side a valuable point.
Connelly came on for off colour Andy MacLeod and looks to be heading back to fitness, while Duff, another recent injury victim, replaced a jaded Grant.
