Ian Polworth was the hattrick hero as jaunty Jags breezed to a shock triumph over the new Qualifying Cup holders.
Shell-shocked County found themselves three goals down by half-time as the Kingsmills men rediscovered their finishing touch to clinch a Highland Office Equipment Cup final against Clach at Telford Street--the first all-Inverness final in five years.
Henrick Madej's men, even without injured striker Calum Maclean, fired on all cylinders to become the first team to score six goals at Dingwall since Meadowbank Thistle in the Scottish Cup two years ago.
The home side actually started brightly but were soon in trouble. Polworth flicked on Davidson's cross and Dingwall lad Gary WATT floated Jags into the lead.
On the half-hour mark POLWORTH took Masson's pass and his 25-yarder deceived keeper Hutchison.
Five minutes from the interval, Dave MILROY made it 3-0 with a beautiful flying header.
Any hopes County had of a quick second-half rally were dashed when POLWORTH wheeled just inside the box to drive home his second.
DUFF opened County's account, but four minutes later it was 5-1 as POLWORTH completed his hat-trick with a brilliant chip.
County kept plugging away and, when the keeper could not hold Wilson's cross, Andy McLEOD juggled the ball over the line for their second.
But Jags made it 6-2 in 69 minutes when MASSON flipped the ball over the defence and ran on to slot home a beauty.
DUFF hit his second from point-blank range in 85 minutes, but it was too late.
Thistle had six players booked--Murphy, Milroy, Watt, Polworth, Davidson and McLean, while County's trio booked were Somerville, Sandy McLeod and Reid.
