Dunfermline slipped eight points behind First Division leaders St Johnstone as Ross County triumphed at East End Park.
County went in front at the end of the first half when recent signing Craig Brewster scored his first goal for the club with a close range finish.
The Pars levelled on the hour mark, Graham Bayne heading home from Graeme Holmes' cross.
But the visitors regained the lead seven minutes later with Richard Hart crossing for Sean Higgins to score.
