No home comfort
Goal-shy Ross County failed to find the net in another disappointing home display.
The Dingwall men have only won one of their nine First Division games at Victoria Park this season and although they dominated against second-placed Clyde for long spells on Saturday, they lacked the cutting edge in front of goal.
Clyde forward Ian Harty scored the only goal of the game, 20 minutes from time, after the home side had carved out numerous scoring chances.
County manager Alex Smith said "We dominated the game and their goalkeeper kept them in it. He had two or three very good saves in the first half and he produced a great stop from Alex Burke when it was 0-0 in the second half. The goal they scored was a slack one as far as we were concerned and it should have been avoided."
County should have taken the lead in the 18th minute when John Rankin got on the end of a Don Cowie cross, but Clyde goalkeeper Bryn Halliwell made a superb save before Burke blasted the rebound over.
Fregus Tiernan, who has just been signed from Aberdeen, was County's best performer and he tested Halliwell with a fine drive which the goalkeeper managed to tip over the bar.
Clyde were more enterprising after the break and scored the only goal of the game when Jimmy Gibson chipped a delightful ball into the County box and Harty pounced.
County's best chance before the end fell to Burke, but the forward mistimed his shot with the goal at his mercy.
Clyde boss Billy Reid said: "County were the better team in the first half and we were slightly lucky to come in level at half-time. I was delighted with the workrate and effort from my players in the second half."
