Ross County failed to move off the bottom of the Championship as they went down to defeat at East End Park on Tuesday night.
The Staggies had the chance to move out of the relegation zone after Saturday’s 2-0 win over Raith Rovers in Dingwall.
Manager Stuart Kettlewell said last weekend’s result set the template for what he wanted to see from his team for the rest of the season.
However, they remain bottom of the table on goal difference with Airdrieonians in ninth with both teams on 26 points. They remain two points off Queen’s Park in eighth on 28 points and have played a game more than the Spiders.
Dunfermline broke the deadlock after 16 minutes when Chris Hamilton robbed Ross Docherty of the ball and sent through Callumn Morrison who fired into the bottom corner.
The Pars doubled their advantage as Morrison grabbed his second of the game. He ran on to a pass from Alfons Amade before firing a low drive past goalkeeper Trevor Carson.
Dunfermline wrapped up all three points with 10 minutes remaining when substitute Chris Kane scored from close range.
